Topic #1 Holidays season is approaching and I am planning another trip to #Kyrgyzstan. I will operate EX0DX occasionally still from the very noisy QTH . However the focus is to spend my time with the family so my operation time will be randomly adjusted.
Anyway, this time I have some interesting pieces of equipment that will surely help me to get you guys our of the S9+ QRM
-OM6BPF Band pass filters from OM POWER -MFJ 1026 Noise cancelling device -nanoVNA -SDR Play RSP 2
The nanoVNA and the SDR Play RSP 2 will help more as monitor devices
I plan to be QRV sometimes after 27th December 2019 as I have to erect the R8 Vertical antenna in the garden firstly. End of operations 11JAN2020
RIG will be the usual Yaesu FT450D with 100W and the Cushcrap R8 + dipole 40m. In June 2019 I tried a bazooka antenna with the hope of reducing the noise level but results were very unsatisfactory. I will look into the matter one more time.
I’m looking forward to some good QSO in spite of the inexistent Sun activity as of today 22DEC2019
WHY extra work? Topic #2
I have been appointed by the National Amateur Radio Union of the Kyrgyz Republic ARUKR as IARU R1 liason officer. We are in the process of finalising all documents for the application to fill the existing gap as Kyrgyzstan is not an IARU R1 member.
There is an awesome project currently running in the country related to a group of Girls building the first CUBESAT satellite ever as the Kyrgyz Space Program is crowdfunding the country’s first satellite. Info from TEDed blog and here . By the way they are searching for funds and I eager to learn more details about their project.
Activities are now over and as I wrote on my qrz.com page I saw some comments that I was deaf. Yes this is true as I have QRM from various sources here in my urban QTH, mainly from HV Line just opposite my road, ranking from S7 to S9+10. I let you imagine the fun.
Log is updated to LOTW as for now, with 795 QSO records.
