Mission accomplished! I would like to thank all Hunters for the calls and all Activators for your commitment and motivation during this event. I will not hide from you that the thing was born very spontaneously a few weeks ago by a friend who proposed to me to bring Switzerland to the event. Everything remained silent because of other priorities, as long as with Ludovic we decided to do something. As a result, the “recruitment” was also carried out somewhat at the last minute.
Although until Friday I had not noticed, the numbers speak for themselves: Out of 323 activators, in the category Mixed HB9WWA has 2 activators in the TOP 20 and 4 in the top 40!
In the cat CW we were less present with only 1 activator in the top 40, while in the cat SSB we also have here 2 top 20 of which the best at 4. Position (bravo HB9EOU) and in total 3 activators in the top 40.
The total QSOs were 15 ‘ 527 and we are ranked at position 8 out of 30 active stations which I consider a very high ranking.
My Pros of the operation: As operator always have moments in which to do radio activities according to own possibilities of time and band coverage with antennas, compare with the setup of the own station and related performance, compete with the other activators both in personal terms and group result.
The cons was to have accepted exceptionally, due to technical impediments, a station not online and that occupied for many hours the band creating confusion on the true reference platform of all operators. Lesson learned; it won’t happen again.
To finish, considering that it was a one-week activity in July in the holiday period for both operators and hunters, I feel very satisfied with the work done and I look forward to starting with the January 2025 project that will last a whole month.
