Hi everyone,

at D4C there are experiments going on on 2m FT8.
Thanks to Mark EA8FF, D4C station was upgraded in a way that FT8 mode is manageable on remote. We run several hundreds of HF FT8 QSO signing D41CV.
Operators are now attentive to the next days tropo condx to operate the station as per the following information just released:

As there might be tropo across the Atlantic sometimes around next Tuesday onward, D41CV station (located in Cape Verde), WW Locator HK76MU will be attentive to any opening.

Please spread the info if anybody across has FT8 on 2.

IARU R1 VHF 2017 contest Final Results

– DR9A (MO) claimed 511079 points in 2017

Glad to have contributed at DR9A station in the MO section.
Our log was not clean enough to have hold a score over 500’000 points.

See comments below from the IARU guys:

Comment to the 2017 September contest results:
2017 September contest is a special one – after 33 years the “magic line” of 500k points was crossed again. The remarkable achievement of DR9A now places them to September contest “hall of fame”:

– OK1KHI/p (MO) won with 591193 points in 1981 which still remains the highest ever claimed score in the 61 years history of this contest

– OE5XXL (MO) was second with 553769 points same year

– F6HMQ/p (SO) scored 554770 points in 1984 – highest ever SO score of all times

– F6CJG/p won MO section with 547542 points in 1984

– DR9A (MO) claimed 511079 points in 2017

We all look forward to year 2018 where other teams will try to beat DR9A and hopefully more will score above 500k points 🙂

This article (http://lea.hamradio.si/…/imag…/IARU_VHF_Contest_Analysis.pdf) may offer deeper insight into difficulties of reaching 500k points in September VHF contest.

YEAR 2015 PICTURE

IARU VHF IS OVER

Great fun!

I was gladly part of DR9A Team this year from their usual location in JN48EQ aftre 4 yeras of absence on the 144 MHz band.
Murphy visited us a couple of times before the contest when all was going ok but we could recover.

Anyway we were into the contest and we had a great fun especially on the live score board at http://slovhf.net/en/claimed/

We did an impressive work at DR9A to catch up our gap in the last hours of the contest on Sunday. I am glad that we reached this 2nd place in the declared !

Of course at the end of the contest began to rain and it did not make things easy for the disassembly process.

Congratulations to all and thanks to the top teams for the adrenaline generated this weekend!!

We listen on several antennas so we may need an extra second to find you – calling with twice the call sign is appreciated. We are also online in both ON4KST chats (144/432 and microwave) for sked arrangements. If we do not answer the first time, please retry, sometimes the OP is under heavy traffic.

I really look forward to contacting you especially at the contest beginning
